bexar county Precinct 1 Health Fair

The P.E.A.C.E. Initiative participated in a Bexar County Precinct 1 community health fair hosted by Precinct 1 Commissioner Rebecca Clay-Flores on March 23, 2025. Domestic violence is a public health issue, so we fit right in with the organizations providing dental screenings, vision exams, mammograms, cancer genetics evaluations, and other resources.

National Gun Violence Awareness Day

In addition to countless community events and trainings we participate in throughout the year, on June 8, 2024, in honor of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, the P.E.A.C.E. Initiative joined Texas Impact, Moms Demand Action, Big Mama’s Safehouse, and other local organizations for a “Wear Orange” event at Wheatley Park in San Antonio. We created a special Vidas Robadas installation to accompany a press conference and family-friendly day honoring those stolen by gun violence. In Bexar County, over 2,400 t-shirt memorials have been made, nearly completing the list of 2,700 residents stolen by gun violence since 2018.
