F.A.C.T. Family Assistance Crisis Team Training

THE COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU! 

Consider becoming a member of FACT to advocate ending the cycle of domestic violence. 

Receive training to offer crisis intervention services to victims and their families and commit to volunteer with SAPD at least 8hrs a month for a duration of six months.  Upon training completion, volunteer assignments will include supporting the Family Justice Center office with administrative duties such as assisting with clients’ paperwork, helping clients get to the correct office, making follow-up calls and assisting with Crime Victims Compensation applications or be assigned to a substation to provide crisis intervention services for clients coming in or calling for assistance.  Once a month, ride with an officer to provide crisis intervention services for victims of domestic violence.

Training is provided free of charge hence, SAPD needs your commitment of 6 months of volunteerism.  Must be 21+ years of age and have no criminal background.  Must attend all 3 sessions to complete the 17-hour training.
